• Applicants should be primarily care providers. Care Providers can be parent, grant parent, or any child over 16 who heads the family. 
• If the applicant is not a biological parent then they must provide the affidavit from the police official, affidavit from biological parent, social worker report or letter from school principal. 
• Applicants should hold a South African Residency. 
• If the applicant is single then the income should be under Rand 52 800 Per Annum and if the applicant is married then couples combined earnings must be under Rand 105 600 Per annum. 
• The child for whom you have applied then that child should be aged under eighteen and that children must reside with the applicant only. 

SASSA Child Support Grant Amount 2025

As per official update, the SASSA Child Support Grant Amount 2025 is Rand 560/child/month. Also some children may get top up payment of Rand 280. It means some applicants may get Rand 840 per month.

How To Claim South Africa Child Support Grant 2025?

This grant can be claimed by visiting the nearby SASSA office. There is no online application available. 

• Go to the nearby SASSA office and bring a 13 digit ID, Child Birth Certificate. If the applicant does not have it then they need to complete the affidavit and they also need to provide a sworn statement by a reputable person, proof showing the applicant applied for ID. 
• Provide earnings proof, marriage certificate, divorce certificate, death certificate whatever applies to you. 
• Complete the application in presence of SASSA officials. 
• Submit the application & keep the receipt. 
• Three months are required for the application processing. If the grant gets approved then applicants will get paid from the date they have applied. 
• If the grant does not get approved then SASSA will provide a written statement showing the reasons for rejection. 
• If the applicant disagrees then he/she can appeal to the Social Development Minister. The appeal should be made within ninety days of written notice of rejection.
