Ahmedabad: Saturday: Pandit Naval Kishor Sharma said," The strong sense of belonging, matchless attachment for the motherland, industrious nature, and extraordinary feat of leadership has placed Gujarat in the top ranking States." The Governor was addressing the Diaspora after the grand inauguration of the "Vishva Gujarati Parivar Mahotsav," held in Ahmedabad today.

Africa has emerged as the new destination of the world, the growing relations of Gujarati people with Africa is truly revived by the Theme Pavilion "Gujarat in Africa." The festivals are lifeblood of Gujarati community; The Gujarat emerges wherever the people of Gujarat have stayed.

The invisible emotional thread is revived by the cultural event "Vishva Gujarati Parivar Mahotsav." The Diaspora became spell-bound to witness the great love and affection of the people.

The Governor felicitated Chief Minister Shri.Narendrabhai Modi for attaining the reigns of power for the third consecutive term. The glory of Gujarat is eternal. The strong sense of belonging and desire to contribute for the mother land, the Diaspora creates a small replica of Gujarat wherever they have gone. The people of Gujarat are hard working, the extraordinary feat of leadership, and dedication towards the motherland, that has placed Gujarat in the top ranking States, said the Governor.

The solutions of present problems lie in the principles of Gandhiji. Mahatma Gandhi took over the Freedom Struggle after he came from Africa. The whole world is getting inspirations from the teachings of Gandhiji.

Chief Minister:

Lauding the glorious success of Vibrant Gujarat, Chief Minister welcomed the Diaspora in the Vibrant Gujarat. In the emotional and inspiring address, Shri Narendrabhai Modi said," Every Gujarti ought to excel in every sphere of his life. We have to scale the top with the spirit and temperament of 'Jitega Gujarat". We should be the flag bearers of the victory of Gujarat. In unison, we must endeavour to achieve our aims."

The event is organised on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand. The Gujarati community residing through out the world, they have displayed the entrepreneurial spirit, tenacity, probity, brevity and they have shined out in all sectors. Gujarat takes proud in your achievements, said the Chief Minister. In the back drop of newly emerging scenario of 21st century, Africa has drawn attention of the world. The invisible emotional thread of humanity, the Gujarati community has explored the oceans since many decades. We are proud of our historic feats and capacity.

The people of Gujarat have always laid emphasis on political stability. We are determined to scale new horizons, and want to be in the row of developed nations.

We have created excellent infrastructure, now we are determined to forge ahead in raising human development index.

The theme of Makarsankranti is to be realised by progressing with prosperity. Chief Minister expressed his profound confidence to achieve the laudable goal with united endeavours.

The Council of Ministers, Chief Secretary Dr.Manjula Subrahmanayam, M.P.s, Mayor of Ahmedabad, Chairman Tourism Corporation Shri. Kamlesh Patel, Ambassadors from Uganda, Ravanda, Tanzania, and Kenya were among the others who attended the function. National and international kitists, Non Resident Gujaraties, NRIs and citizens in large numbers also attended the Mahotsav.

The Theme pavilions gain tremendous response

Amadavad: Tuesday:  On the crisp clear yesterday evening, Chief Minister Shri.Narendrabhai Modi inaugurated the Theme Pavilions "Gujarat in Africa" and the "Adventure Sports." Non resident Gujaratis had marked the event a path breaking one. On the sidelines of the International Kite Festivals, he had declared the Food court open. Large many people savored the delicious dishes.
The "Gujarat in Africa" displays the Lunatic Line- Uganda Railway- from Mombasa to Taru Plane, Tsovo River -where elephants were roaming and lions were roaring-, Kenya highland, passes through Masai land and Lake Victoria. It completed with completion of the Nile-Bridge .The pavilion exhibits the melting of the two cultures -When Enterprise meets persistence-. The Khoja, Patidars, Lohana, Jains, and Vora communities had explored the sea-route from 1893 to 1908, when very little communication facilities were available; these brave explorers relied on the compass and their destinies. Nanji Kalidas, Jagdusha and many others undertook the journey and placed indelible mark on African Canvas. Chief Minister took keen interest in observing the glorious contribution of the Gujarati people in Africa.
Smt.Saryu Patel who had borned in Kampala, her ancestral grand parents belonged to Piplag- Kheda, finds that Gujarat has made major strides in Infrastructure over the last few years. The administration has become very transparent. She was holding a British Passport, now settled in Boston, she said Jay Swaminarayan to Shri.Narendrabhai Modi, Shri. Modi reciprocated her by saying Jay Swaminarayan. She admired the upgradation of health services. It is really chilling!! But she expects the U.S$ to equal the Indian Rupee by 2020.She is confident that Gujarat will continue to play the role of nation's growth engine.
Suvarna Banazara, a third generation Kenyan of Savarkundala origin, she is with U.N Kenya. She runs an NGO- Nividaya Trust. She said "Vibrant Festivals have earned outstanding reputations. Chief Minister have done praiseworthy job by computerizing the administration. Transparency, hassle-free dealings are always noticed positively." Shobhana Patel from New Jersey expects huge capital investments in Gujarat.
Be it Seema Raval from Naranpura-Ahmedabad or five year old Preeti, every one praised the innovative initiatives of organizing the International Kite Festival. It inflates the sense of belonging and cultural connectivity. The Adventure Sport Pavilion exposes the little ones to mountain climbing and gives the pleasure of rolling in Balloon. The Theme Pavilions are really a boon for the youth to access a route to their cultural roots....

 

The Winners of Chakravyuha-2007 SMS contest call on Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi:

The Contest was organised by ETV -Gujarati -Who will be the next C.M?

Ahmedabad: Saturday: The ETV Gujarati news channel had organised SMS contest -Chuntani Chakravyuha 2007- Who will be the next C.M of Gujarat? It received overwhelming response; out of 29987 SMS respondents in the SMS poll, 29105 senders preferred Shri.Narendrabhai Modi as the next Chief Minister. In a computer draw, 25 winners were short listed who called on the Chief Minister today.

Chief Minister met the winners and their family at his official residence. In a very cordial atmosphere, Chief Minister interacted with them. To make it a life time memory, the winners took an opportunity to have photographed with Shri Narendrabhai Modi. To ascertain the feeling of the people, ETV had organised the trustworthy contest. Winners were selected through a computer draw keeping representation of all the districts. The contestants expressed their gratitude towards the Chief Minister for the personal meeting. The Chief Minister said "The credit of the victory goes to the people of Gujarat." He had gone to polls with the Mantra "Jitega Gujarat."

 

Chief Minister Seeks blessings Of Swami Dayanand Sarasvati

Ahmedabad: Saturday: Chief Minister Shri.Narendrabhai Modi called on Swamishri Dayanand Sarasvatiji of the Arsh Vidhya Gurukulam -South India-in Ahmedabad today. He sought blessings of Swamiji and had very meaningful discourse on issue of people's welfare. Swamishri Dayanand Sarasvatiji complimented the Chief Minister for taking the leadership of Gujarat.
