Shri Karim Rehmanji Chhipa was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to the Chief Minister on 8th may, 1962. Shri Raskilall U. Parikh, Minister of Home and Industries and Shri Ratubhai M. Adani, Minister of Roads and Buildings tendered their resignation on 7th September, 1963.

Subjects allotted to Shri Rasiklal U Parikh and Ratubhai M. Adani were redistributed amongst the then Chief Minister and the remaining Ministers.

On 12th September, 1963 Dr. Jivraj M. Mehta, Chief Minister and the Ministers and Deputy Ministers tendered their resignation and the Governor asked Dr. Jivraj M. Mehta and the Ministers and Deputy Ministers to continue in office pending formation of new Council of Ministers.

On the 19th September, 1963 a New Ministry was formed headed by Shri Balvantray Gopalji Mehta as Chief Minister. Shri Jayaram Anand Patel was consequently appointed as Deputy Minister in this Ministry on 25th September, 1963. Consequent upon the sad demise of Shri Balwantray Gopalji Mehta, Chief Minister, the Governor accepted the resignation tendered by the Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State on 20th September, 1965 and the Governor asked the Ministers and Deputy Ministers to continue in office pending formation of the new Council of Ministers.

On 8th March, 1967 Shri Paramananddas J. Oza was added as Deputy Minister in charge of Forests to this Mnistry. Shri Anvarbeg Ahmedbeg Mirza was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to the Chief Minister w.e.f. 15th March, 1967. Shri Vinodchandra Chunilal Shah was appointed as another Parliamentary Secretary to the Chief Minister on 22nd May, 1967.

On 10th December, 1970 Shri Jashwantrai N. Mehta, Minister of Finance and Industries and Chimanbhai J. Patel, Minister for Road Transport, Parliamentary Affairs, Public Relations, Sports and Cultural Activities of Shri Hitendra K. Desai's ministry tendered their reisgnations and the governor accepted it. The subjects allotted to these two outgoing Ministers were fedistributed amongst the remaining Ministers and Chief Minister.

Shri Gordhandas R. Chokhawala, Minister for Education and Municipalities tendered his resignation on 11th January,1971 and the Governor accepted it. The subjects allocated to Shri Chokhawala were reallocated to Shri Hitendra K. Desai, Chief Minister.

On 14th March, 1971 Shri Fatehsinhrao P Gaekwad, Minister for Health, Fisheries, Jails and Sports tendered his resignation as he was elected as a Member of Parliament. The subjects allotted to Shri Gaekwad were redistributed amongst the three of the remaining Ministers.

On 29th March, 1971 Shri Madhavlal Bhailalbhai Shah tendered his resignation to the Governor with immediate effect.

On 31st March,1971 Shri Hitendra K. Desai, Chief Minister , tendered his resignation of his Ministry and the Governor asked the Chief Minister and the Ministers and Deputy Ministers to continue still other arrangements were made.

On 3rd April,1971 Shri Anwarbeg Ahmedbeg Mirza, Deputy Minister for Fisheries, Savings and Parliamentary Affairs relinquished his office with immediate effect.

On 7th April, 1971 the Governor appointed Shri Hitendra K. Desai again to be the Chief Minister and he took upon himself the office of Chief Minister on 7th April,1971.

On 19th September, 1996, the President of India has issued a Proclamation under Article 356 of the Constitution of India, imposing the President's Rule in the State. The President's Rule lasted till 23rd October,1996 and the Proclamation was revoked by the President of India on 23rd October, 1996
